Moms First Shows How to Win Big for Moms in New Impact Report

“From Proof to Power” details the organization’s landmark 2025 wins for child care, paid leave, and America’s moms

March 10, 2026 Moms First, the national nonprofit fighting for America’s moms, released its 2025 Impact report today, From Proof to Power, detailing a year when the organization’s long-term strategy to transform how America values moms began delivering major policy wins and measurable impact.

For years, Moms First invested in the hard work that precedes policy change: shifting the narrative around child care as an economic imperative, bringing business leaders into the fight, and building innovative tools to help families navigate broken systems.

In 2025, those bets began to pay off —  with major federal funding wins, historic state investments, and solutions reaching hundreds of thousands of families.

In a landmark year, Moms First:

  • Rallied hundreds of companies and helped secure $16 billion in new federal funding for child care.
  • Turned child care into a top affordability issue in the New York City mayoral race, through yearslong partnerships with leaders like Governor Kathy Hochul, leading to a historic investment in child care just eight days into the new administration and setting a new playbook for state-level wins.
  • Scaled PaidLeave.AI nationally, proving that AI can do something powerful: put money back in the pockets of working families.
  • Expanded the movement for moms by engaging dads, through the Future of Fatherhood Summit we showed the path forward is one we build together

“2025 was the year our bets finally paid off,” said Reshma Saujani, Founder and CEO of Moms First. “After years of changing the conversation, proving that investing in moms is smart business, and getting unlikely partners to care, we saw it happen: families getting real support, policies actually shifting, and a glimpse of what’s possible when we refuse to accept the old rules. This is proof that moms win when we organize, push boundaries, and keep going — and we’re just getting started.”

Looking ahead, Moms First is taking one of the boldest steps in its history: premiering a first-of-its-kind documentary on American motherhood in 2026. The film exposes the systemic barriers moms face, from economic penalties to invisible labor, while amplifying stories of resilience and possibility. Thousands of mothers are already involved — as storytellers, Associate Producers, and hosts of community screenings.
